Roots of human family tree are shallow -- While the article is based on simulation results and should therefore be treated with some caution, it suggests that the most recent ancestor to have contributed DNA to all humans lived only 2000-4000 years ago. Moreover, it also suggests that if we go back another few thousand years (5000 to 7000) everyone alive at the time was either an ancestor to all present-day people or none (that is, they had no offspring or their offspring died). Implication: No matter where you live, your ancestors built the Pyramids. Moreover, there's a reasonable chance you descend from Kennewick Man (or else nobody does). This should undermine arguments about heritage and bloodlines.
